Experience Tanabata in Tokyo: Write Your Wish with Traditional Japanese Calligraphy
Make a Wish Under the Summer Stars: Join Our Tanabata Celebration
Every summer, bamboo branches decorated with colorful wish papers appear throughout Japan. This beloved tradition is part of Tanabata, a festival that celebrates the annual meeting of the stars Orihime and Hikoboshi and invites people to write down their hopes and dreams.
Experience a Traditional Japanese Festival
This year, we invite you to experience this beautiful tradition with us.
From June 17 through July 7, guests who order any drink during our café hours will receive a complimentary tanzaku wish strip.
Using authentic Japanese calligraphy brushes and ink, you can write your wish just as people have done in Japan for centuries. Whether your wish is for happiness, success, or simply a wonderful summer, Tanabata offers a meaningful moment to reflect and express your hopes.
After writing your wish, you may take your completed tanzaku home as a unique keepsake of your experience.
