A Joyful Reunion

This visit was made even more special by the presence of a senior from my university days, who came along with my former professor.

We had not seen each other for nearly twenty years. Earlier this March, we unexpectedly reunited at our professor’s retirement lecture. It was held at a different university from the one we graduated from, yet in that large lecture hall, he spotted me right away and called out my name. I was truly surprised — and deeply touched.

He took the time to visit my salon. During the visit, he chose to write the character “Raku” (楽), meaning fun or pleasant. Watching his write, the space felt lighter, filled with a gentle, natural warmth — just like the character itself.

Our calligraphy and tea ceremony experiences are held in a real Japanese home in Ikenoue, a quiet neighborhood just four minutes by local train from Shibuya. In this calm, residential setting, we invite you to step away from the city’s pace, slow down, and create memories that will stay with you.
