Welcoming Guests from Germany

This morning, we had the pleasure of welcoming two wonderful guests from Germany—a mother and her son—for a Japanese tea ceremony experience at our salon. Together, they tried out some of the basic manners of tea ceremony, enjoyed a seasonal wagashi sweet, and then watched the host prepare matcha with care. Afterwards, they each had the chance to whisk a bowl of tea on their own.

The mother was delighted that her tea turned out just the way she liked, while her son admitted that the host’s tea still tasted a little better. Their honest reactions brought smiles, and it was clear they both enjoyed the experience in their own way.

What made us happiest of all was hearing that the mother would take this memory home with her to Germany. Knowing that a small part of the Japanese tea tradition will stay with them on their journey is truly heartwarming.

We wish them a wonderful journey ahead and look forward to the day we may meet again.
