A Beautiful Moment with a Guest from France

We had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful guest from France — a professional photographer visiting Japan for work on a tight schedule.

During her busy days, she chose our calligraphy and tea ceremony experience as a peaceful break — a moment to relax and breathe. For her calligraphy, she selected the kanji 「美」 — beauty. As someone who captures beauty through her lens every day, this character held special meaning for her. I believe so. She focused especially on the expressive texture of kasure (the dry, fading texture in brushstrokes), bringing powerful motion and energy into the character.

Afterward, she enjoyed a serene tea ceremony. She tasted a bowl of matcha prepared by the host, and then, she took the tea whisk in hand and tried making matcha herself for the first time.

Later, she kindly sent us a message on Instagram saying, “It was perfect ❤️”. Such a simple yet heartfelt message made me truly happy.

We are deeply thankful she chose to spend her precious free time with us. May the memory of this experience — both the character 「美」 she wrote and the taste of pure matcha — continue to add a touch of beauty to her journey.
