The Serenity of “Sea” — A Gentle Moment with Calligraphy and Tea

Yesterday, a lovely couple visited our salon.
Each of them tried calligraphy and wrote the character “海” (Umi) — Sea — with their own heartfelt meaning.
I hope they will take these pieces home and display them as gentle reminders of this special day.

As autumn deepens and the air grows cooler, they enjoyed a warm, rich matcha latte together.
I was truly grateful to share such a peaceful afternoon with them — where calligraphy, tea, and heartfelt conversation came together to reflect the very spirit of the tea ceremony: ichigo ichie, a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.

We are deeply thankful for this serene moment, and for the beauty of the character “海” (Umi) — a word that, for them, carries the warmth of family and the depth of the sea.
