Art Meets Calligraphy
Here’s a glimpse of a calligraphy experience at our salon the other day.
Our guest, who majored in traditional Japanese painting at an art university, choose the word “日本画” (“Japanese painting”) to reflect her artistic background.
Traditional Japanese painting and calligraphy share many elements — both use brushes, washi paper, and ink. The difference lies in their expression: paintings depict images, while calligraphy conveys letters and characters.
We’re delighted you enjoyed the experience and look forward to seeing you again!
