Local festival today

The autumn festival is a time to celebrate and give thanks to the guardian deities and for the harvest. It was still quite hot even after sunset today, and the shrine grounds were packed with people, adding to the already intense heat. At the grand kaguraden stage, a sacred dance was performed to entertain the deities, accompanied by the sounds of Japanese flute and drums. Festivals offer a wonderful opportunity for travelers to experience Japanese traditions together with locals. If you’re lucky enough to come across a festival during your stay in Tokyo, it’s a treat not to miss!
