A photo of the manager hanging the noren curtain.

A quiet moment before we open

We hang the Noren — a traditional Japanese shop curtain — at the gate of our little wooden house.

It’s a simple gesture, but one that holds meaning.
The Noren tells our neighbors and visitors that we’re here, and that we’re ready to welcome you.

Whenever we do it, it marks a small beginning.

As the breeze catches the cloth, we open our hearts to welcome you.
