Practicing Yukata Dressing
The other day, we practiced putting yukata on a model.
We had the privilege of learning from a kimono dressing instructor who is also a master of Japanese traditional dance.
A kimono is essentially a large piece of fabric made up of straight lines. When the instructor dressed a model, everything aligned perfectly—the center was straight, the collar was smooth and wrinkle-free, and the hem tapered elegantly. It was truly stunning to see.
Every step of the dressing process had important techniques and details. I realized that putting on a kimono is far more than just wrapping the cloth around the body or tying a sash—it’s an art that requires skill and creativity.
We are truly grateful for the valuable guidance we received.
