Spring is here!
Today was a warm and beautiful day, so I wrote the word “春 (Spring)” in calligraphy. With each careful stroke, I felt the gentle arrival of the season. The warmth of spring is finally here, bringing a sense of renewal and fresh beginnings.
In Japan, spring is a season of meetings and farewells. March marks the end of the school year, a time when students graduate and take their first steps into a new stage of life. In April, they start fresh at a new school or move up to the next grade. The season also brings job transfers, and many professionals relocate to new cities, leaving behind familiar places to begin new careers in unfamiliar surroundings. This time of transition is both exciting and emotional, as people embrace change while cherishing the memories of the past.
Spring also marks the end of the cold winter, welcoming warmer days, blooming flowers, and a refreshing breeze. The iconic sakura (cherry blossoms) will soon be creating breathtaking landscapes across Japan in a month. It is the perfect time to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the beauty of nature.
