Calligraphy and Matcha Tea Ceremony Experience

Our combined calligraphy and tea ceremony experience, including a simple paper frame for your calligraphy piece, a traditional tea ceremony viewing, and a drink with Japanese sweets, is 10,000 yen per person (tax included).

What’s included:

Capacity: Maximum 5 people per session (including children)

Children are welcome to join:
• Children’s Calligraphy Experience (includes a water writing sheet and a brush as a souvenir, one drink with some Japanese sweets): 5,000 yen
• At least one adult must participate simultaneously.
• Recommended for children up to around 7 years old.
• Please note that the ink used in the adult calligraphy experience is permanent, so extra caution is advised around clothing and other items.

Children’s fees are not displayed on the reservation page. If children are participating, please be sure to enter the number of children in the notes section of the checkout screen. After your reservation is confirmed, we will send you an invoice for the children by email.

We now offer a 120-minute Premium Experience.
In addition to the standard calligraphy and tea ceremony experience, this plan includes a hands-on matcha whisking session and a seasonal namagashi (fresh Japanese sweet).
To provide the namagashi, reservations must be made at least two days in advance.
If the reservation is made within 48 hours of the experience, only higashi (dry sweets) will be served instead.

Sado (Matcha Tea Ceremony) Experience

Immerse yourself in the art of Japanese tea with our tea ceremony experience. This session includes a traditional tea ceremony demonstration, two cups of matcha, and traditional Japanese sweets.

• Duration: 60 minutes
• Capacity: Maximum 5 people per session
• What’s included:
  • A traditional tea ceremony demonstration
  • Seasonal Japanese sweets (namagashi and higashi)
  • One cup of matcha prepared by the host
  • Your own matcha-making experience

Shodo (Calligraphy) Experience

Enjoy the art of Shodo, Japanese calligraphy experience. This session includes all tools for the experience such as from brushes, ink, and paper to traditional Japanese close called Jinbei. You will also receive a paper flame to display your work as a souvenir to take home.
