In Japan, <em>Kakizome<\/em>\u2014meaning &#8220;first writing&#8221;\u2014is often assigned to children as winter holiday homework, where they write New Year\u2019s resolutions or practice beautiful handwriting to start the year. It\u2019s a meaningful tradition that encourages them to put their goals on paper, sharing these with their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For adults, too, in today\u2019s digital age, it\u2019s a wonderful opportunity to hold a brush, focus on each stroke, and write out personal goals for the year. It\u2019s a way to change our mind and move forward as we enter a new beginning.
